There are performance issues of MRP run jobs in NEP for different regions EMEA, APAC, NA which can be tuned by following the best practices from SAP.

These Job takes a lot of time to explode the BOM of all the planned orders, and the cause is obvious that all the BOM tables must be read for each order. SAP suggested to enable BOM buffering, which will help MRP run jobs in reading the frequently used BOM from buffers instead of database.

SAP Has suggested to
Activate the report "Z_MRP_PERFORMANCE " and add BOM Buffering

BOM Buffering shall be activated if there are no frequent changes to BOM.
BOM Buffering may cause the issue of lock and dump, please read the SAP note 441097.
The MRP run has a buffer on another level. That means when the MRP run has performance problems then the activation of the shared buffer for BOMs will not have much effect.

We can give a try for BOM Buffering. We have to activate test and make a decision. We need to make sure that our BOMs are not changed frequently.
